I have extensive experience with and a passion for developing high-impact business networks and large, multi-sector coalitions from regional through international scales. I’ve also helped build and lead technical assistance provider networks, communities of practice, and national fellowship programs. I specialize in the nexus of the private, nonprofit, and public sectors, with stakeholder engagement at the heart of my work for 25 years.
Let’s work together to mobilize your stakeholders, forge strategic partnerships, and cultivate thriving networks that achieve greater collective impact.

For legislative work at the federal, state, and local levels, as well as for state ballot initiatives, I provide comprehensive services including business organizing strategy and execution, lobbying and lobby training for both new and returning advocates, advocacy communications (such as message and spokesperson development, media strategy, opinion media creation, and advocacy materials development), and policy analysis and writing support.
I’ve played a key role in over 40 legislative and ballot wins across 17 red and blue states, as well as numerous cities and counties. I’ve also been instrumental in passing landmark federal legislation and was in the 'war room' when it passed on Capitol Hill.
Let’s collaborate to leverage this proven experience to help you win your next campaign.

I offer a comprehensive range of communications services, including strategic planning, message development, public relations, stakeholder engagement, spokesperson training, advocacy communications, and press materials development (media advisories, press releases, op-ed and letters to the editor, talking points, and backgrounders). I also specialize in communications technology, from website design and buildout to CRM platforms.
I’ve held communication leadership roles for 20 years, including serving as a communications director for multiple nonprofits and agencies, a frequent media commentator on business and labor, and a media coach for hundreds of business leaders.

I offer a comprehensive range of services to businesses seeking to adopt sustainable practices and build resilient, purpose-driven organizations, drawing on nearly two decades of experience working with small businesses and large brands, and building national business organizations—from communities of practice to advocacy networks.
I help companies navigate complex environmental and economic challenges, create sustainable business strategies, integrate social responsibility into their operations, and drive advocacy efforts that align with both their values and business goals. I also specialize in wage & hour best practices that maximize employee retention, minimize turnover, and improve culture, efficiency, well-being and customer service, as well as business models for employee ownership and employee ownership transfers.
Whether you’re looking to implement practices that foster long-term sustainability, explore certification programs, enhance your public relations efforts, or build a coalition of like-minded businesses, I can guide and support your success.

Drawing on nearly two decades as a nonprofit executive, one of my key services for nonprofits is interim executive management, including fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) support. Interim executive management is ideal when you face pressing needs but aren’t ready for a full-time hire, or when you need interim leadership during the hiring process to guide decisions on permanent staff. I also offer expertise in program development and evaluation, process design, organizational culture and employee wellbeing, governance evaluation and board coaching, and support developing, implementing and evaluating justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) initiatives.
I can help you build capacity in your organization and people, optimize your operations, and empower your team to drive transformative impact.
“Alissa is a skilled and strategic advocate. As just one example of her successful work, because of her strategic organizing and persuasive lobbying, Members of the House of Representatives who haven’t co-sponsored any minimum wage bills in the past decade, co-sponsored the Raise the Wage Act. And Members who no one thought would ever vote yes on the bill, did so the last time there was a floor vote on the bill. There are at least a half-dozen Members whose yes votes were almost entirely attributable to the in-district organizing Alissa planned, oversaw, and helped conduct, and probably two dozen more who felt comfortable with this bill because of the business support that Alissa and her team made so evident.”
Judy Conti, Government Affairs Director, National Employment Law Project
“I had the pleasure of working with Alissa in her leadership role at Business for a Fair Minimum Wage for a decade. With her leadership, we succeeded in getting the minimum wage in New York State raised and having it done in an intelligent, thoughtful manner. Alissa is both a great listener and effective advocate. A number of the concerns I had were incorporated thoughtfully into the legislation with Alissa’s help. Alissa deserves a great deal of credit for being open-minded. She welcomes challenging feedback and is someone I trust and respect greatly. I look forward to the opportunity to work with her again.”
Dave Bolotsky, Founder and CEO, Uncommon Goods
“We had the privilege of working with Alissa for nearly a decade during her time co-leading Business for a Fair Minimum Wage. Her strategic vision and coalition-building expertise were instrumental in securing minimum wage increases that benefited millions of workers across numerous states. Alissa's unique ability to mobilize business leaders as effective advocates transformed each campaign's reach and impact. What truly sets Alissa apart is her combination of policy expertise, organizational leadership, and genuine commitment to economic justice. We're grateful for Alissa's collaborative approach and dedication to creating meaningful economic change.”
